NHRDN National Professor

Since its inception in 1986, National HRD Network (NHRDN) has been continuously exploring new ways to serve its members and all stakeholders in tune with its Mission of serving the HR Profession. Over the years, with support from business & industry professionals, NHRDN has created a critical mass of leadership, in its multifaceted activities across the country.

There are more than 3000 B-schools in India where students study, hoping to find their dream career after completing their program. But, due to mismatch between skills available & industry expectations, all the students are not placed in corporate and other sectors. This is really an issue for concern and various reasons can be attached to it. Management education in India has not changed as per industry needs and before this gap widens enough, NHRDN Board took a positive step!

Taking this forward, NHRDN is launching a new social initiative - Concept of National Professor. National Professor is an Honorary Position instituted by NHRDN. Through National Professor Initiative, we aim at equipping the students with skills required to meet various emerging issues of Management Education in India (with reference to HRD). This may help us to bridge the gap between Industry & Academia and provide inputs to budding managers aligning with Industry requirements.

The distance organizations need to travel from ‘Good’ to ‘Great’ depends a lot on their ability to deliver sustained business performance that creates a win-win for all key stakeholders. A key enabler to this is a robust Performance Management system that motivates employees to take stretch goals and reward them for the meaningful contributions.
Planning for talent – quality and quantity – and then attracting them is one of the constant challenges HR professionals face in today’s War for Talent. Does your organization have a formal manpower planning process? What are the recruitment channels you use most frequently? What recruitment metrics are used by organizations?
