Chapter Name - KOLKATA chapter

Program Details

It gives us great pleasure to bring to you the celebrations that commemorates 25 glorious years of the National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN). In the year 1985, the concept of having a common platform for HR Professionals working in various cities in India was first mooted. Under the able-guidance of Dr. T V Rao, Founder President of NHRDN, Late Dr. Uday Pareek and HR professionals from enterprises such as Larsen and Toubro, Bank of Baroda, TVS Group, Steel Authority of India and academicians from IIM Ahmedabad and XLRI Jamshedpur, NHRDN was formed on 6th December 1986 and completed its 25 years in December 2011. NHRDN led the movement of transition from personnel management to Human Resource Development. Over the past two and half decades, this institution has been built and mentored by outstanding leaders, committed office bearers, who have embraced the mission of creating an unparalleled network of the Human Resource professionals.

It's time to celebrate the long 25 years journey of the NHRDN which has always been the torch bearer of Human Resource Development in the nation. While the western economy is experiencing a trying phase, India`s and China`s rise offers reassurance, especially India`s belief in democracy with renewed focus on market forces. For the right reasons, India Inc. today is poised to take the centre stage. One of the critical enabler to the growth of our nation is our people. Indian Corporate houses need to leverage on the human resource and nurture managers with global mindsets. Also, creating sustainable Inclusive businesses is a key thrust area for the nation today and India Inc needs to sketch an inclusive growth path and make the bottom of the pyramid a part of the success
story. With such dynamics coming into play in the Indian economics, managing and developing people resources are riddled with challenges and opportunities. The NHRDN has been focusing on projects of human resource development through its 30 Chapters and topical initiatives from time to time. Keeping the above imperatives in mind, NHRDN is presenting its Silver Jubilee Conference on the theme 'building india inc. - the people agenda'. The Kolkata Chapter of NHRDN is honored to host the Silver Jubilee Conference on the 25th and 26th of May, 2012 at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Kolkata.
