Message from
Dr. TV Rao, Founder President, NHRDN

Dear Member,

The twin objectives of HRD is competency development and creation of a healthy climate where employees enjoy work and contribute their best. The underlying philosophy of the Network is that every human being has the potential to do remarkable things. However organizations often fail to tap human potential due to preoccupation with short term results.

NHRDN was started as a not for profit association of professionals committed to promote HRD movement through education, research, training and experience sharing. 25 years after its formal existence, the objectives of HRD and that of NHRDN still remain the same as envisaged in mid eighties.

The need for stimulating the positive forces for humanizing and organizations in national life - which is the first objective of NHRDN still remains even more important today in an era of social networks, short term goals, Q to Q existence, Internet tools, fast changing technologies and changing nature of human and social relationships.

The need to focus on human potential and develop a healthy culture remains the same. NHRDN has come a long way since its start and has been working towards fulfilling each of its nine objectives envisaged in its constitution.

In the last twenty five years NHRDN has set new benchmarks in managing conferences and professional bodies, provided an opportunity to at least a hundred HR Leaders to unleash their leadership competence, for over a thousand professionals to express themselves through its Newsletter, created its own competence framework and code of values, and produced over two dozen books including those by its Academy of HRD, developed a number of HRD Facilitators, launched a Post Graduate program with MDI and established its own autonomous Academy which in turn produced over twenty five Doctoral Fellows. It is a great accomplishment by all counts. This was possible only because of excellent leadership, cooperation and conduct by members.

I take this opportunity along with Fr. E. Abraham the Founder Secretary of NHRDN to thank all those who contributed to the HRD movement and NHRDN – Members, Presidents, Secretaries and other office bearers of the National body and Chapters, senior HR professionals , academia, Sponsors of various events, and the National Secretariat.

Dr. S Y Siddiqui, National President, NHRDN

Dear Member,

It is indeed a privilege and pleasure writing to you today.

From a movement that started in 1985, National HRD Network has grown successfully for the last 25 years and has emerged as the Country’s leading Professional body for Human Resource Development.

In the last 25 years, NHRDN has gone through waves of changes and plenty has evolved since then. As Dr. TV Rao says National HRD Network has created a pool of thought leaders and practitioners who have contributed to developing the standards of professional excellence in HRD. National HRD Network  has been a pioneer in bringing the HRD movement to the forefront of Indian Business and Industry and has played the role of a catalyst  in breaking new grounds for the Human Resource Professionals through innovative approaches and initiatives.

On this milestone of 25 years, NHRDN Board has decided to celebrate Silver Jubilee through year long celebrations starting 6th December, 2011. With your active support, we will request all the Chapters to organize activities to commemorate this Special year.  Today, we renew our commitment to develop the Human Resources through education, training, research and experience sharing by enabling impactful contribution.

Over the next two years the focus would be on the concept of “Shared Leadership”, to strengthen the present NHRDN Initiatives with high quality value add for all our members and to the HR profession at large.

Some of the key agendas going forward would be to launch specific activities and initiatives towards engaging the Generation Y, operate with the principle of collaboration and co-existence with similar professional bodies and explore the possibility of creating global alliances with similar professional bodies across the world. NHRDN will also look to develop a self sufficient Learning Centre infrastructure and the Head Office at Hyderabad. NHRDN will also pursue efforts towards getting accreditation and certification status.

The coming times will be more challenging and exciting for our profession and you as our partners, well-wishers, colleagues and leaders will take the profession to the next orbit.

I look forward to your continued support and patronage !
